About Me
Hello! My name is Connie Meyer. Ever since I was young, I’ve always loved art and considered myself too creative for my own good at times. My creative side has always meant a lot to me. As a child growing up in the Philippines, I used to give all my stuffed animals different voices, personalities and backstories. While most kids had one imaginary friend and I had a whole host. Even after moving to the United States, I would always make room in my various schools to take as many art classes as I could each semester. It has always been my dream to use my creativity. Initially, I wanted to be a fantasy fiction author but have since expanded my creative reach.
When I was young, I was told that my artistic creative side would never bloom into anything substantial or worthwhile. My creativity took a heavy blow and for years I tried to stifle it. I took college classes that I didn’t like all that much but had more “potential”. For a while, I took a Certified Nursing Assistant class and even got my certification. While nursing is certainly a noble career choice, it really wasn’t for me. After years of feeling lost and spinning around in academic circles, I decided to finally just do what I wanted to do and not what others thought I should be doing. At long last, I was reunited with this creative spark inside of me.
It has not been easy but going into Graphic Design and getting my associate degree has been the greatest thing for me. I learned that not only was art substantial but it was most definitely worthwhile. I wear my recent Graphic Design degree like a badge of honor. My creativity and artistic nature has been set free once more and I look forward to where it will take me!
